Saint Mary of the Woods, IN ACE 101-Herd Assessment and Breeding Strategies
Sponsor: White Violet Farm Alpacas

In this dynamic one-day class breeders learn to evaluate alpacas and develop a herd scoring system to keep competitive in a livestock business. Seedstock producer goals and expectations are explained so the student can successfully develop individual breeding strategies. Herd performance data systems are used to make breeding strategies for herd genetic improvement. Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) are explained so students are ready to use EPDs successfully in their own breeding programs.
